2005-2006 Budget Process
07/18/2005
We hope you are enjoying your summer and finally some warmer weather. We are writing to you today to provide you with some information that will hopefully be helpful to you as we head into the coming winter. We will be restructuring our budget program for the 2005-2006 heating season. Instead of a cap price for oil, we will be estimating your budget on an average price of $2.20 per gallon. The actual rate you will be charged for heating oil will be at our cash price of the day for each delivery you receive. We regret that we have to do this but we have no other choice given the current conditions in the oil market. Rest assured that there is an adequate supply of heating oil in the market and we will be able to keep your tank full this winter. As you probably know, the price of crude oil on worldwide markets has hit record highs in recent weeks, and therefore, all products that are made from crude oil, including the fuel to heat your home, cost more today. The reasons for the price spike in crude oil are as follows - increased demand for petroleum around the world, the war in Iraq, concerns over the economy, and the recent hurricane season here in the U.S. which put tremendous strain on domestic oil supplies and oil refinery operations in the Gulf Coast. Like you, our company can't control the factors that impact worldwide energy prices at any given time, and the higher prices for heating oil concern us as well. As your heating oil dealer, we can and will do our best to try and offer you the best value possible under these difficult conditions. And of course, we will continue to offer outstanding customer service. So as the heating season approaches, please consider the following things that can help you manage your home heating costs and even save money in the long run. If you're not already a budget customer with our company, call us today to set up your account. A budget can help you plan and manage your heating costs this winter. If you don't already have one, consider installing a setback (day/night) thermostat in your home. By doing so, you can save up to 10% on your heating bills. Call us to schedule a heating system tune up. If your system is running at top efficiency, you'll save money as well. And if you've been thinking about replacing your old heating system, there's still time to get that work done. Call us to learn more about how to achieve energy savings by investing in a modern, efficient oilheat system.
We thank you for your patronage and your continued understanding in these difficult times. If you have any further questions please don't hesitate to call us at 413-737-0293.
